Five tips to prevent project failure
Tuesday 24th April 2007, 11.55 - 12.35
Projects fail for a variety of reasons but across different sectors, industries and project types - they fail on a common theme. This session is a simple look at what are the common lessons learned that projects seem to ignore time after time. It also presents a 1-2-3 model of how we can bake these into the various methodologies we use.
From small business improvement initiatives to multi-million technology projects the same critical elements are abused and can lead to calamitous results. Understanding these elements and then protecting them by methodology and behaviour will mitigate the risk of project failure and enable maximum benefit realisation.
Based on a theme the session will focus on the "Big Five" reasons for failure and share experiences of how to manage each of the "Five".
Who should attend? : Any person involved in or leading project no matter how big or small and is keen to track down the "Big Five".
